JACoW
The Joint Accelerator Conferences Website (JACoW) is an international collaboration that publishes open sources electronic proceedings of accelerator conferences held around the world. Set up in 1996 for the publication of EPAC and PAC conference proceedings, it was joined by APAC for its first conference in 1998. Today, eighteen conference series are members of the JACoW Collaboration: ICFA ABDW (HB, FLS, ERL, eeFACT, Ecloud, Factories), COOL, Cyclotrons, IBIC (formally BIW, and DIPAC now combined into an international event), IPAC (formally the regional events APAC, EPAC, and PAC), ECRIS, FEL, HIAT, ICALEPCS, ICAP, LINAC, MEDSI, NA-PAC, PCaPAC, RuPAC, SAP, and SRF.
The collaboration is supported by all accelerator laboratories, contributing with resources for the conference editing, for the JACoW governance, or providing IT support, servers, licenses, … .
Each conference series agrees to adopt common templates, and to produce JACoW-compatible files of papers for publication at the site. They agree to abide by terms of reference and boundary conditions which have been put in place to facilitate the training of JACoW editors through hands-on experience in processing during larger conferences, and through attendance at the annual JACoW Team Meetings (TM2024) where technical problems related to electronic publication are addressed.
A set of tools, developed by JACoW in collaboration with Indico, support Local Chairs for the conference preparation and running, starting from the initial call to all organizational and practical aspects, and Scientific Committees for selection and planning of the Scientific Programme, abstract acceptance, paper submission, editing and light peer review (when required). At the end of the conference, proceedings are published via JACoW.
